REB Group was appointed to undertake a comprehensive package of enabling, demolition and structural works at Cavendish Square in Mayfair, working as part of the wider refurbishment programme for the property.

The project involved a broad range of works, from the initial soft strip and demolition through to temporary works, structural alterations, drainage, groundworks and the installation of metal decking. The varied scope required close coordination between our site team, the main contractor and the wider project team to ensure each phase was delivered safely, efficiently and in line with the construction programme.

The project was planned around approximately 390 man-days, with the initial phase allowing four weeks for the preparation and implementation of the required RAMS and site-file documentation.

Project Delivery

Given the nature of the works, early coordination and planning were key to the successful delivery of the project. Particular attention was given to the temporary works strategy, the extent of plaster removal and the proposed structural opening works before construction commenced.

REB Group worked closely with Westgreen Construction to establish the required sequence of works and coordinate the information needed to progress the project efficiently. This included reviewing quotation notes and previous correspondence, confirming temporary works requirements and coordinating the full construction programme.

Our approach was centred around maintaining a safe and controlled working environment while progressing the demolition and structural elements efficiently and preparing each area for the subsequent stages of the refurbishment.
