This page explains what we collect when you use this website, what we do with it and the choices you have. It covers rebgroup.co.uk and the forms on it.
Who we are
R.E.B Group Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15859665). Our registered office is 98 Hornchurch Road, Hornchurch RM11 1JS, and we trade from Unit 3 Moor Hall, Romford Road, Aveley, South Ockendon, Essex RM15 4UU.
We are the controller of the personal information described here. For anything about it, email enquiries@rebgroup.co.uk.
What we collect
When you send us an enquiry
Your name, email address and phone number, and, if you give them, your company and a message about the job.
When you book a waste collection
Your name, email address and phone number, the collection address and postcode, the date you would like and a description of what is going.
When you apply for a job
The role you are applying for (if any), your name, email address and phone number, what you tell us about your work, and your CV if you attach one.
Please leave out of your CV anything we do not need to consider you for work: your date of birth, National Insurance number, bank details, or anything about your health, religion, ethnicity or other sensitive matters. If something like that is in a CV you send, we will not use it to make decisions about you.
With every form
The page you sent it from and the time you sent it.
When you visit any page
Like every website, ours receives your IP address and basic information about your browser when you load a page. We use the IP address for one thing: when a form is sent, it is kept in memory for up to ten minutes to stop the same address sending form after form, and then discarded. It is never stored with your message. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs for security and to keep the site running.
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The cookies page has the detail.
How it reaches us
Each form is sent to us as an email, and that email is the only copy. Nothing you type into a form is stored on this website or in the system that manages its content. A CV is attached to the email and is not stored on the website either.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- Enquiries: to reply to you and prepare a quote. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract with you, or, where you are asking on behalf of a company, our legitimate interest in answering enquiries about our work.
- Waste collection bookings: to arrange and carry out the collection. Our lawful basis is that this is necessary for a contract with you, or for steps you ask us to take before one.
- Job applications: to consider you for work with us and contact you about it. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract with you, and our legitimate interest in recruiting the right people.
- Keeping the site secure: stopping repeated or automated form submissions, and the hosting provider's server logs. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the website and its forms safe and working.
We do not sell your information or use it for marketing.
Who handles it for us
These companies process information on our behalf, under contract, and only to provide their service to us:
- Resend delivers the emails our forms send, including any CV attached.
- Vercel hosts the website. It handles every request to the site and keeps the server logs.
- Sanity manages the website's content and serves its photos and videos. Form submissions are not sent to Sanity, but your browser loads images from it, so it receives your IP address the way any web server does.
Form emails are then kept in our own email system. We may also share information where the law requires us to, or with our professional advisers.
Some of these providers process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, it is protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and quotes that do not go ahead: 12 months.
- Waste collection bookings: 2 years, or 3 years for hazardous waste. These are the minimum periods the law requires us to keep waste transfer notes and hazardous waste consignment notes.
- Job applications and CVs that do not lead to a job, including speculative applications: 6 months. If you join us, your application becomes part of your employment record.
- IP addresses used to limit form submissions: up to ten minutes.
- Server logs: kept by our hosting provider for a limited period under its own terms.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct it if it is wrong
- ask us to delete it
- ask us to limit how we use it, or object to our using it
- ask for information you gave us in a format you can take elsewhere
To use any of these, email enquiries@rebgroup.co.uk. There is normally no charge, and we will reply within one month. We may need to confirm who you are first. Some rights depend on the reason we hold the information, and we will tell you if one does not apply.
We do not make decisions about you by automated means alone.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first and we will try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this page
We will update this page when the website or the way we use information changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
