11 Cadogan Gardens, Chelsea

Main contractors

Careful strip-out of four luxury mews suites in Chelsea, with selected fittings removed, labelled and set aside for reuse.

Project overview

R.E.B Group was appointed by Mitre Construction to undertake the strip-out of four luxury mews suites at 11 Cadogan Gardens, Chelsea.

The works required a careful and methodical approach due to the high-quality finishes within the suites and the need to retain and protect selected fixtures, fittings and architectural elements for the next stage of the project.

Scope of works

  • Removal and disposal of sanitaryware, FF&E and joinery
  • Removal and setting aside of second-fix electrical items, including chandeliers
  • Removal of skirting, bathroom tiling and carrier board
  • Careful removal of decorative fireplace surrounds and associated elements
  • Removal of internal doors, frames and architraves, with selected doors retained and labelled
  • Removal of window pelmets and radiator surrounds
  • Relocation of loose furniture
  • Protection works to safeguard existing areas and finishes

The challenge: restricted access

One of the key challenges on this project was site access and logistics.

The project was located within the mews at Cadogan Gardens, with access to the project via a pedestrian pavement. This created significant logistical constraints for the movement of labour, tools, materials and waste.

With bay suspension and access arrangements required to facilitate the works, careful coordination was essential to ensure materials and waste could be moved efficiently while minimising disruption to pedestrians, residents and the surrounding area.

R.E.B Group planned the logistics around the restricted access conditions, allowing the team to work efficiently within a confined and highly constrained urban environment.

Our approach

The works were delivered with a focus on care, control and coordination. Items identified for retention were carefully removed, labelled and set aside, while waste was segregated and removed from site in a controlled manner.

Additional protection materials and labour were incorporated into the works to ensure the existing environment was adequately protected throughout the strip-out process.

Project outcome

R.E.B Group successfully provided a controlled strip-out solution across all four mews suites, combining careful removal techniques with effective logistics planning in a challenging Chelsea location.

The project demonstrates R.E.B Group's ability to deliver high-quality residential strip-out works in restricted urban environments, where access, protection and careful handling are critical to successful project delivery.
